Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Michael Vick Denies Nick Foles Feud After Being Upset with Lack of Reps in Quarterback Competition

Michael Vick was just answering the question he was asked. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was using the age-old excuse to get out of an answer that might have not been too pleasing to the media or the Eagles organization. As the quarterback competition continues for Philly, Vick appears to be folding to the pressure, complaining that backup Nick Foles was getting too many first-team reps. Now, he is backtracking just a bit.

Vick initially said it was difficult splitting practice time with Foles. He wants the Eagles to be his team no one else's and is not thrilled another person is getting a chance to step in. While talking with media, Vick stressed that it was tough, but he was going to continue to be professional and put his emotions aside. Now he is taking back his words.

"I didn't say I wasn't getting enough reps. I never said that out of my mouth, and I wasn't even asked that question to give a response in that fashion. It's five quarterbacks, and everyone has to get reps. Everybody has to get better. I understand that. I even help the other quarterbacks when I'm not getting reps, because it's just in me to help and to try to coach them, and to help myself. We all wish we could get more reps," VIck said to a local Philadelphia radio station.

A quarterback competition is not a rarity when it comes to head coach Chip Kelly. He often waits until a week before the season begins to name the team's starting quarterback. He followed the trend at Oregon and he appears to be content doing the same thing in the pros. Vick is hoping he does not have to wait until training camp to find out who the starter is.

"Hopefully, Chip makes a decision before training camp and we won't have to answer that question, so we can go out there as quarterbacks and just focus on the season and no answer questions about competition every day," Vick said.

Vick stressed that he has full trust in the first-time coach and has been nothing but complimentary about his styles. However, Vick likely will not get his wish as the head coach appears to be in no hurry to establish a starter.

Vick said he eventually will stop answering questions regarding the quarterback competition. He is not looking to create any type of feud between he and the other players. He just wants to do his job.
