Tim Tebow Rumors: Seattle Seahawks or Philadelphia Eagles Good Schemes For QB, NFL Career Not Over Yet As Quarterback Stays Off Radar Until Media Hype Cools

Jun 04, 2013 12:45 PM EDT

Tim Tebow was brought in by the New York Jets to be a chance of pace and a dynamic option for Mark Sanchez and after the season was a complete disaster, the team decided to cut him loose and now that he can sign with any team, it appears that his options are dwindling and some feel his career is over.

According to USA Today, many the quarterback's camp have privately said what everyone else has been thinking, as they feel that Tebow's career is over in the NFL. His father denied that report and while no team has shown much interested yet, there is still a good chance that he could end up back in the NFL at some point. One thing is for sure though, it is unlikely that Tebow will be commenting on the ESPN The Magazine story that mentioned those rumors. According to USA Today, it has been a conscious decision by Tebow to remain low key while working towards a new NFL job or career and the article says that Tebow likely will not address the story "anytime soon" or possibly not at all.

During his time in the NFL Tebow has proven to be a polarizing and popular NFL player and while he has the influence of some top athletes, many feel that the talent is not there and that is why he hasn't gotten a new NFL offer. The media hype has been something that has hurt Tebow and teams have been reluctant to show interest as to not deal with the constant reporting on him. The Jets dealt with that and although that was likely the reason they wanted the quarterback in the first place, it proved to be a detriment to the team and they never ended up using him like they said they would anyway.

Tebow was on top of the world when he led the Broncos to a playoff win and a division title after taking over as the starter and despite winning games, he was shipped out in favor of Peyton Manning, which was a totally legit decision. He ended up rushing or 102 yards and passed for 39 while with the Jets and things got so bad that the team decided to use third staring QB Greg McElroy instead of him.

The media hype has hurt him in a number of cities, especially with him hometown Jaguars, as the team was once interested in acquiring him, but that soon faded. Fans haven't done him any favors by taking out ads and petitioning the White House to intervene, which has appeared to push the Jags even further away from Tebow as an option. He is a hard worker and amazingly enough there are teams that could use him in certain situations, including the Oakland Raiders, Seahawks, Vikings, Lions, Patriots, Cardinals, Browns and the Bears, but so far no one has went for it. Many feel that Tebow deserves a shot in the NFL after what he has done in the short time he was able to start and as long as he keeps working hard and proves he can help teams win games, someone will give him a contract, even if it ends up being in the AFL or CFL.
