Minnesota Vikings Rumors: Greg Jennings and Jared Allen Return To OTAs As Leslie Frazier Wants Joe Webb To Be Like Percy Harvin On Offense

The Minnesota Vikings are a new look team after trading away wideout Percy Harvin in the offseason and after adding three first round draft picks, the team is ready to keep trending upward and the NFC north division title feels like its within reach.

The team made some solid moves in the offseason and one of those is getting ready to show itself, as wideout Greg Kennings will be returning to OTA workouts next week after dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of the voluntary workouts, according to NFL.com. Jennings was one of the biggest additions in the offseason and the team hopes that he can make up for some of the production that Percy Harvin had on offense.

Adrian Peterson is expected to have another great season and if Christian Ponder struggles, the team has a new backup option in Matt Cassel. By signing Cassel the team is putting a new role in the hands of former backup Joe Webb, as head coach Leslie Frazier wants to see more of him on offense this season. Webb is one of the faster players on the team and Frazier wants to use him more as a receiver this year than a quarterback and said that they also plan to put him in other spots like they did with Harvin.

Another boost for the Vikings will be the return of Jared Allen, as he missed OTAs with a wedding anniversary and since he needs and wants a new contract after this season, which may have been a message. Allen is expected to be back when Jennings returns and while many have speculated about what will happen to Allen, he is planning on being back with the team in full capacity.

The All-Pro rusher has been one of the biggest and most explosive players for the Vikings over the past few years and the drafting of Sharrif Floyd will only free him up more. He is getting paid a high salary and that could end up hurting him, but if he puts in another solid season after signing the six-year, $73.3 million contract in 2008, he could be in line for another payday.
