The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are through to the conference finals and both teams are looking ready for another championship run, as the Spurs have already won one game in dominant fashion against the Grizzlies, while the Heat are waiting to start their series against the Pacers after they defeated the Knicks in six games.
The two teams haven't faced off in the finals, but the spurs have played against LeBron James when he was in Cleveland and after beating them 4-0 to win the championship back in 2007, the team is primed to give it another shot this season. The Heat will be much tougher than the Cavaliers teams that LeBron was on back then, but that doesn't mean the series won't be exciting though. The Spurs are playing at a very high level and after winning 105-83 over the Grizzlies in Game 1, the team may have taken all the momentum.
Marc Gasol had a solid game of 15 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Tony Parker added 20 points and nine assists to show why he is one of the best players in the postseason. Tim Duncan is continuing to play like the younger version of himself and Kawhi Leonard was solid with 18 points while the Grizzlies are dealing with their first playoff appearance in the West finals.
The Spurs took a 17 points lead at one point in the game but after losing after being up 2-0 in the West finals last season, the team is not taking anything for granted. The performance was better than Game 1 against the Warrior's, which the team won but only after overcoming 44 points from Stephen Curry and a double overtime shot from Manu Ginobili. The team did an excellent job on Zach Randolph and kept him to just two points in the game. Randolph had 28 points and 14 rebounds in Game 6 against the Thunder but he was totally shot down Sunday.
The Heat will be ready for a Spurs matchup and James knows that it will be tough to win two championships in a row. The Heat will also be ready to take on a determined Pacers team in the East finals.
