Rajasthan Royals will look to put their disappointment of losing to KKR behind them when they entertain Pune Warriors in their IPL 2013 game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur Sunday.
The Royals were a little underwhelming against KKR Friday, and have been poor away from home. However, they are unbeaten at home and with Pune Warriors struggling to pick up wins, there only looks like one winner in this game.
Sanju Samson, the 18-year-old who has been impressive for the Royals is not worried about the records, and just wants to take the Royals to a position of strength and into the playoffs.
"We are not worried about our away record or dominance at home," Samson told IPL's official website after the loss to KKR at Eden Gardens. "We just want to play the right cricket at the right time. We are not worried about the result. What matters is to give your 100 percent on the field."
Samson has been brilliant in IPL 2013, scoring an impressive half-century against RCB, before backing that up with a 40 against KKR in difficult conditions.
"I love to attack," he said. "I always try to play according to the needs of my team. Rahul Dravid backs me a lot. He is giving me the right advice at the right time. The team management has also backed my abilities, which is the reason why I am able to play freely."
Still only a teenager, Samson said he takes advice whenever possible and looks to learn from his mistakes, an attitude which will stand him in good stead in the future.
"IPL is a big stage, where players get to express themselves," Samson added. "I try to take in as much knowledge as possible from the senior pros in the team.
"I always ask them about my game and take valuable inputs so that I can improve my game. It is a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills and I want to make the most of it."
