Kolkata Knight Riders face Rajasthan Royals in a must-win game for the defending champions, who are in serious danger of not making the playoffs of IPL 2013.
Eden Gardens will be the ground where KKR will look to get their campaign back on track, after losing five of their last six matches.
KKR are currently languishing in seventh in the points table, and that too only thanks to a superior nett run rate to the Delhi Daredevils, who have the same record having won just three of their ten games.
RR, though, will not be an easy opponent, with Rahul Dravid's men looking to seal their own place in the playoffs. They are currently well positioned in third with 12 points from nine games.
"Playing against KKR in Kolkata is a big challenge and we all know the Knight Riders are a good side," RR opener Ajinkya Rahane said. "We would not want to take them lightly. We just want to play it like just another game and give our best against the defending champions."
Rahane, who has shown his form in patches this season, praised Dravid for the way he has led the team in IPL 2013, with RR surprising everyone with their form and consistency this season.
"Rahul Dravid is backing all of us," Rahane said. "As a captain he is doing a great job by handling the team well. The team is also supporting the captain well and we have seen that he (Dravid) has done well with the bat too. We want him to bat like this and hope he gets match winning knocks for us."
Rahane has given RR a few good platforms, be it with Shane Watson or Dravid, and the right-hander believes patience is the key to building a good innings in the IPL and T20 cricket.
"Patience is the key in any format of the game," Rahane said. "Even in T20s you get enough time to bat. Even if you play one maiden over, it does not mean you need to swing your bat at everything from the very next over. If you back your skills and stick to executing the game plan, you will succeed."
