Rajasthan Royals will be eyeing revenge when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their IPL 2013 game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur Monday.
The last time the two Royal teams met, RCB cruised to a seven-wicket victory, with the Bangalore side's bowlers putting in an impressive performance by bowling out Rajasthan Royals for 117. Chris Gayle made an unbeaten 49, to guide RCB past the total with relative ease.
Now, the Royals will look to secure a victory in their own backyard, where they are unbeaten in four games in IPL 2013.
RCB are just coming off a disappointing and heavy defeat at Mumbai Indians, and will be keen to get back on track, having lost their top spot in the table to CSK.
The Royal Challengers are currently second with six wins from nine games, while the Royals are right behind on five wins from eight. RR can join their opponents with a win on Monday.
One of the main reasons for Royals' good run in IPL 2013 has been the form of Shane Watson, who was instrumental in their win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous game, scoring a brilliant unbeaten 98.
Ajinkya Rahane, Watson's partner at the top, said batting with the Australian makes his job a lot easier.
"Opening with him makes my job easy because runs are coming from one end and we know he is a dangerous player," Rahane told IPL's official website. "So my job is to play a ball (a shot) if it is in my zone, otherwise take a single and give him strike. And I try to give him as much strike as I can."
Rahane also credited skipper Rahul Dravid for moulding the Royals into a team unit, with several players chipping in at the right moments this season.
"We do well as a unit and we have gelled well," Rahane added. "In all four matches we have won (at home), we have performed well as a team.
"The credit goes to Rahul Dravid for the way he has handled the team. He gives all players the same level of importance, the same confidence and that is a big thing for the players."
