New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays Live Stream: Watch Online MLB AL East Action Sunday Teams Chase Boston Red Sox at 1:07 PM ET

Apr 21, 2013 12:39 PM EDT

The New York Yankees were supposed to be the worst team in the American League East according to most experts due to injuries to Derek Jeter and every other star player, but those people must have forgotten to tell the team, as they are 10-6 on the year and will look to continue their strong play against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre on Sunday.

The Yankees have Vernon Wells in the outfield after trading for him from the Angels and so far he has been a solid addition and now gets the chance to finish out the series on Sunday against his former team. Wells did his part in the 5-3 win on Saturday that went into 11 innings and he was the one who scored the winning run after a throwing error and a lead off single. Wells has knocked around his former team over the weekend, hitting two home runs while hitting .500 with four runs while the Yankees have won twice.

Josh Johnson, who was acquired in the big trade from the MArlins, will be on the mound and he is 0-1 with a rough ERA this season and he will be up against Ivan Nova, who is 1-1 with a 5.59 ERA this season and is looking for his second straight win. The Yankees will get a chance to see former outfielder MElky Cabrera and the new look Jays, but they will be without Jose Reyes, who injured his ankle last week and will be out for a while. Nova will be looking to rebound on the road after not winning away from home since last year and the Rogers Centre has been good to him in the past, winning 5-2 in August while striking out 10 batters.

The Yankees are ranked seventh in runs scored this season with 84 on the year and are fourth in the league in batting average after many experts thought they would suffer without the stars. The team is ranked eighth in on base percentage and second in slugging while a couple games behind the Red Sox in the AL East. The Blue Jays are struggling and are ranked 19th in runs and 27th in batting average, while the team is also 28th in on base percentage and 17th in slugging percentage.
