Following a brilliant win over the Chennai Super Kings in their own backyard, Pune Warriors will look to carry forward the momentum when they host the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2013 match.
The Warriors were quite impressive against CSK on Monday, scrambling to 159 for five, thanks to some brilliant hitting from Steven Smith in the final overs, before restricting CSK to 135.
The Aussie batsman, who was finally given a chance in this year's IPL, is sure to retain his place, leaving Pune to ponder on whom, if anyone, will go out for skipper Angelo Mathews.
The Sri Lankan all-rounder has struggled to make any sort of impression in the side this season, and Pune looked a much better outfit under the captaincy of Ross Taylor. The other two foreign players in the starting XI against CSK were Aaron Finch, who scored a half century in Chennai, and Mitchell Marsh.
If Mathews, does come back to the lineup, then it will most likely be at the expense of Marsh - although many will say Luke Wright should be playing in the stead of both Mathews and Marsh.
Yuvraj Singh is again likely to miss this game due to a back problem, with Taylor confirming the Indian left-hander was struggling for fitness.
"I am not sure right now. He is not going to be playing in the next game but hopefully he is ready for the game after that," Taylor said after the win over CSK.
"Obviously, Yuvraj is a big part of our team and it affects the balance of our team when Yuvi doesn't play. He is a world-class player and hopefully he can come back as soon as possible."
Sunrisers, on the other hand, were poor against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous game. Their strength is without doubt bowling, but when sides take full toll of their bowlers in certain games, Sunrisers just do not have the batting to mount a challenge.
The new franchise has made heavy weather of small targets like 130 and 114 this season, and unless their batting improves drastically, they will struggle to compete for a playoff spot.
