There is nothing more annoying to a fan or a manager when a relative of a player gives his opinion on the problems lying with the club.

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger were made to feel the brunt of Wojciech Szczesny's father's ire, with Szczesny Sr. Blaming Wenger for his son's dip in form this season.

Szczesny is seen as one of the more talented goalkeepers in Europe and is tipped to have a glittering career ahead of him.

However, this season, the young Pole has made too many errors for one's liking which led to Wenger "resting" him from the squad for the Champions League last 16 second leg game against Bayer Munich.

Szczesny also found himself on the bench for the English Premier League game against Swansea at the weekend, with Lukasz Fabianski impressing in his stead.

Now the Arsenal goalkeeper's father Maciej, has laid the blame on Wenger, who he says forced his son to play through an injury at the end of last season.

"Wenger already started to look for the scapegoat," Maciej told Przeglad Sportowy. "It is not the way the boss should behave.

"Wojciech has had two serious injuries. He played with one in April and May last year. He shouldn't have agreed to play that time, but the coach insisted.

"Wojciech did not train the whole week and then a warm up on Friday and played the match on Saturday. He was naturally more susceptible to minor injuries and his form was going down.

"Wenger was playing with the young man's good health and Wojciech agreed foolishly.

"In my opinion Mr. Wenger messed up a lot in April and May. I don't blame the young man who went along with his coach, his current lack of form is a result of those two months.

"Then in August there was a foot injury after which he played almost instantly.

"After seven weeks out Wojciech trained for just seven days and played the match. How on earth can he be on his highest form?"

Maciej also believes his son was naive in wanting to play despite injuries and believes that has led to his loss in form this season.

"I told him 'Don't play, don't stretch your arm. Take a break, heal it. The time will come when you will pay the price for missing training sessions. You will be in worse form and Wenger will ignore you. He will not remember about your commitment.'

"This last period has not been successful for Wojciech, the fact that Arsene Wenger did not take him to Munich shows something.

"However, I think my son can be the No.1 keeper over 10 years, he just needs to come back to form and then a situation where we can stop to wonder who will stand between the posts."

A lot of players play with injuries in sport, and at the end of the day, if there is one thing that Wenger cannot be blamed for doing, it is not protecting his players - sometimes almost to a fault.

Szczesny is only 22, and he will eventually become Arsenal's No.1 goalkeeper, but he certainly has to earn it.
