This is the third and final meeting for the Los Angeles Kings and the Nashville Predators. The Monday night game is a clash of two Western Conference teams fighting for playoff position. Once Anaheim, Chicago and Vancouver are taken out of the picture, a number of teams are jockeying for the final few playoff spots.

Nashville has been bouncing between the second and fourth spot in the Central Division, battling with Detroit and St. Louis. The Predators have lost the first two games of their western road trip and hope to regain footing on Monday. Their league-worst offense continues to be inconstant. Nashville has totaled two goals in their last four losses on 96 shots. They are the league's first team to be shut out five times. The Predators power play struggles continue to haunt them. The team has given up seven goals on 13 power-play opportunities over the last four games. Colin Wilson has been on fire for Nashville, scoring a team high five goals and 15 points this season.

The Kings are beginning a five-game homestand on Monday. They will play 10 of their next 12 at home. They recently snapped a five-game win streak and are hoping to regain momentum. Goalie Jonathan Quick has struggled, allowing four goals on 23 shots in a game against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. Quick had only allowed six goals during the five-game win streak. The Kings rank among the NHL's best in goals allowed at 2.4 per game. The Kings also tallied 17 goals during their winning streak. Anze Kopitar has two goals and seven assists during a five-game point-scoring streak for Los Angeles. He has had at least one point in 13 of the past 16 games.

Nashville will be without forward Brandon Yip who is day-to-day with an upper body injury. The Kings will be missing Matt Greene who was placed on injured reserve with a back injury.
