NFL Rumors: Randy Moss Leaving San Francisco For New England Patriots or Minnesota Vikings? Wide Receiver Wishes 49ers Good Luck

Randy Moss is one of the most accomplished wide receivers in NFL history and while he made a small impact on the San Francisco 49ers last season, it appears as if he is ready to move on to another team if he plays again next season.

According to ESPN.com, Moss said over the weekend that he wished the 49ers "good luck" in the future and about how he wished the team could have made it past the Baltimore Ravens to win the Super Bowl.

Moss wrote on Twitter: "Wished we could've finished the job!!thanks for the opportunity an good luck in the future 9ers."

Moss was retired for one season before joining the 49ers and he played in all 16 games for San Francisco, providing leadership for the younger receivers and a solid third down option for quarterbacks Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick.

Although he had limited impact stats-wise, Moss provided a target all cornerbacks needed to take notice of. Moss made 28 receptions for 434 yards and three touchdowns during the regular-season and he also caught two passes for 41 yards in San Francisco's Super Bowl loss to the Ravens.

Moss has been one of the most prolific wideouts in history and has made 982 catches for 15,292 yards and 156 touchdowns over his 14-year career. Moss helped Tom Brady set the record for touchdown passes 2007 with the Patriots when he caught 98 passes for 1,493 yards and a single-season record 23 touchdowns while the team went 16-0.

Moss was a major part of the offense for the Patriots during that run and the team finished the year 18-1 after losing to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl 17-14. Moss likely will have some suitors in free agency and has been rumored to have a chance at signing with the New Orleans Saints.

Some other teams that could have interest in Moss could be his old teams in the Minnesota Vikings and the New England Patriots as well as the Oakland Raiders. The 49ers have had trouble developing young receivers, which is one reason why Moss was brought in to the roster in the first place.

Michael Crabtree has turned into a star on the field and the team also has Mario Manningham coming off of an injury that kept him out of the Super Bowl last year. Moss could re-sign with the 49ers, but the team could also focus on developing last years first round pick AJ Jenkins.

At 36-years-old Moss is on the older side of his career, but he could provide some solid production for a team like the Saints and Patriots that like to throw the ball more than some other offenses in the NFL.
