Arsene Wenger confirmed that Italian club Fiorentina have made an approach for Arsenal flop Marouane Chamakh.

The Morocco international moved for French club Bordeaux in 2012 as a free agent and enjoyed a bright start, eventually scoring 11 goals in his debut season. His form, however faded badly in his second season, scoring just one goal from 19 appearances.

Arsenal have already signed the likes of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, further reducing the chances of Chamakh finding a regular starting place.

"Fiorentina requested information on his availability and made an offer," Wenger said.

However, with Robin Van Persie expected to leave the club, it remains to be seen if Wenger will let the striker go.

Another striker that has failed to establish himself, Park Ju-Young, rubbished reports of a move to another club, saying he had not received any bids and was concentrating on playing for South Korea in the Olympics.

"There's no progress," Park said. "There's no offer so I have nothing to consider.

"If an offer comes, then I'll consider it.

"Right now, I don't want to think about Arsenal."

Meanwhile, Arsenal have invited French starlet M'Baye Niang on trial. The highly-rated 17-year-old is being tracked by some of the biggest clubs in Europe. However, new Caen coach Patrice Garande said this might not be the right time for his player to move.

"What I say in relation to him is simple, he has talent - yes. Does he have the potential to make a career - yes," Garande said.

"But is he doing the right thing for this at the moment -- no."

Asked about the plans for Niang next season, Garande said it would depend on his availability. "If he is here I will count on him, he leaves tomorrow we won't."

Niang scored two goals in 14 starts for Caen in Ligue 1 last season and the forward is seen as one of the brightest prospects in France.
