Ray Allen has yet to commit to his future. With free agency in full swing, he could be one of the bigger names on the market, but Allen is not sure if he is available just yet. Allen has been toying with the idea of retirement since the season ended, but with the Miami Heat missing out on the title, he looked poised to return for one or two more years at most. As LeBron James looks to recruit his teammate to Cleveland, will Allen opt to end his career instead?

ESPN.com's Chris Broussard reported that the Cavaliers are planning on going hard after Allen after they were able to bring in James. It had been previously reported that Allen was considering re-signing with the Miami Heat, but only if James was also signing with the team. Now that the forward is in Cleveland, is Allen still interested in re-teaming with the four-time MVP? Allen and James have played together for two seasons, earning one championship. The Cavaliers have the cap space to sign Allen to a contract so the idea is realistic, but the veteran must first commit to playing in general.

Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio is reporting that James is attempting to recruit Allen to Cleveland, but the only thing standing in the way is the idea of retirement. Allen has yet to decide if he wants to play longer in the league. So far this offseason, aging players like Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce have all opted to stay for at least one or two more seasons so it seems natural that Allen would commit to playing again.

If Allen plays, Cleveland is expected to be the frontrunners for the veteran. However, Allen may not be sold on the idea of the Cavaliers unless they make a trade for Kevin Love. James admitted the current roster in Cleveland is not ready to win a title. Allen's clock is ticking. Could he opt to sign with a true contender for one more season in hopes of trying to win a trophy? There is no question that with Allen, Cleveland is one step closer to contending, but there are still a lot of missing pieces that need to come together.
