The Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals battle in Game 2 of the 2013 World Series. Who will win? We do not know, but you can follow the score yourself if you cannot watch the game or listen the feed online or on your radio. Check out MLB GameDay's coverage of Game 2 with up-to-the-minute updates as the Red Sox look to take the 2-0 lead and the Cardinals attempt to tie.
Here are the lineups for Game 2.
The Red Sox will strut onto the field and they will have veteran John Lackey taking the mound. He is 2-0 in the MLB Playoffs in 2013 as the Red Sox have backed the righty with enough runs in both of his starts. Since the Red Sox bopped the Cardinals in Game 1, let's look at their lineup first. Not much has changed, except for Jarrod Saltalamacchia's return to action.
Red Sox Batting Lineup
1. Jacoby Ellsbury CF
2. Shane Victorino RF
3. Dustin Pedroia 2B
4. David Ortiz DH
5. Mike Napoli 1B
6. Jonny Gomes LF
7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia C
8. Stephen Drew SS
9. Xander Bogaerts 3B
Ellsbury and Victorino will have to join the hit party. With Bogaerts at the bottom of the lineup, the Red Sox should take advantage of their speed. Yes, it's Yadier Molina behind the plate, but maybe the Red Sox can pick on the other guys in the infield who were shaky in Game 1 of the series.
Cardinals Battin Lineup
1. Matt Carpenter 2B
2. Carlos Beltran RF
3. Matt Holliday LF
4. Matt Adams 1B
5. Yadier Molina C
6. Allen Craig DH
7. David Freese 3B
8. Jon Jay CF
9. Daniel Descalso SS
There's a new name in the lineup. Actually, two new names. What is Mike Matheny doing? Playing by the numbers. Jon Jay is a lefty and Lackey is on the mound. Descalso is in at short after Pete Kozma might have waivered under the big lights of the World Series.
