I have apologized to my coach, Jeffrey Lurie, and Howie roseman and to my teammates. I owe an apology to the fans and to this community. I am so ashamed, but there are no excuses." Cooper admitted to drinking at the show by said that was no excuse.

According to Deadspin.com, a fan at the show saw what happened and said he got mad because he couldn't go backstage at the concert. From the report: "Riley was going fucking nuts because he wasn't allowed backstage. He didn't have passes like some of the other players and was SO pissed that the stadium people wouldn't let him back just because he was Riley Cooper. He had been drinking since 11 AM (Kenny didn't go on until 8)."
