Rafael Nadal vs. David Ferrer Score: Live Blog of French Open 2013 Men's Final

The Men's Singles Finals at the 2013 French Open will have David Ferrer vs. Rafael Nadal. If you can't watch the match, check out the score with updates, stats and play-by-play of this somewhat intriguing final.

The most recent matchup between Novak Djokovic and Nadal is considered the best matchup of the entire tournament. However, you can't tell Ferrer that a semifinals matchup is more important than his first finals appearance in a grand slam. At age 31, the furthest Ferrer had ever gone into a grand slam tournament was the semifinals and finally, Friday, after defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga easily in the semis.

Ferrer has not only defeated a bunch of fellow Spaniards in the French Open, but he crushed Tsonga while not losing a set through the first six rounds of the tournament. That's 18 sets played and 18 sets won for the undersized Spaniard.

The only problem for Ferrer is that history is against him.

Nadal is a seven-time French Open champion, winning his first four in consecutive fashion while winning three straight championships at Roland Garros. He is currently working on his second bid to win four consecutive French Opens for the second time in his career. Though facing injuries in the past year, Nadal took time off and strengthened for his best tournament.

As a result, Nadal will face a man Ferrer, a fellow Spaniard, who he's beat 19 of 23 times. The last time Ferrer defeated Nadal it was at the quarterfinals of the 2011 Australian Open. Nadal has beaten Ferrer seven consecutive and he will have a chance to improve on that record.
