The Minnesota Vikings took the last game of the regular season from the Green Bay Packers forcing their way into the playoffs and preventing their rival from capturing the second seed and getting a break from the NFL action. Because of their NFC North rivalry, the Vikings vs. Packers is the most interesting matchup in next week's NFL playoff schedule.
You have to love the Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins as they are depending on rookies to get them deeper into the playoffs. However, the Vikings and Packers present a matchup of veteran stars trying to add more accolades to their 2012 resumes.
It's Aaron Rodgers at the quarterback position versus Adrian Peterson the guy who almost broke the rushing record in the penultimate play of the game on Sunday.
Though they play different positions, they are clearly the MVP's in their respective teams, Peterson might be the MVP of the league after this incredible performance bouncing back from knee surgery.
The Packers and Vikings will decide the winner of the season series on Saturday, when they are scheduled to go head-to-head. Can it get better than that?
Surely, the Vikings and Packers aren't the typical mainstream battle fans have loved watching over the past decade. It's not Tom Brady vs. the New York Giants or Brady vs. Peyton Manning, but these two teams are dynamic in their own respects.
Rodgers is all aerial, but he makes quarterbacking look artistic as he scrambles around and uses his strong arm to complete plays down field. Peterson has the ground on lock as the Packers have been unable to stop the veteran. In two meetings, Peterson has rushed for over 400 yards.
