Dec 13, 2014 12:20 PM EST

The Arsenal Gunners and Newcastle United are playing live on the English Premier League schedule on Saturday and the match from Emirates Stadium is on the NBC Sports Network on TV and streaming from the NBCSN Live Extra website at 12:30 pm ET as Arsene Wenger looks to get his team on the right track heading into the December Barclays calendar.

Arsenal hosts this matchup and they will be without Aaron Ramsey in this game as he is dealing with a hamstring issue and the team will have to get through that injury on Saturday. Newcastle will be down a couple players as well and Arsenal will be looking to take advantage at home. The team finished in the top four last season and they are looking to do the same this year and now they have the chance to make a move here in the December schedule.

The Gunners have the chance to make up some ground with the busy EPL schedule moving forward and Arsenal comes in having won five games in a row against Newcastle in League play. The team is averaging four goals in the last three matches at home against Newcastle and a win here would only be the third for United in the last 28 over the run against Arsenal. The Gunners come in having lost three of the last five EPL matches and that is why they are expected to bounce back at home.

Arsenal has played well at the EMirates and they have one defeat ins even tries, but they also have three draws and three wins in that time. The team has had to come from behind in four of the seven home games to get points and they also have been struggling early, as they have not scored in the first half in the last six games in the EPL. The team is looking for Alexis Sanchez to continue stepping up his game and he has been the best player for the Gunners this season. Sanchez has seven goals and two assists over the last 13 goals for Arsenal and he is looking to keep that up.

Newcastle comes in playing well with wins in six of the last eight EPL matches, but they have Arsenal now and that will not be an easy matchup. Arsenal is looking to get back into things, as Newcastle has gained the third most points in the last six games of anyone in the league. The Gunners have Liverpool coming up at Anfield before a matchup with QPR and after that they have West Ham and Southampton on the road heading into the New Year.

The North London matchup of these teams has the two longest tenured managers in the EPL and Wenger will be looking to get his team going. Arsenal comes in at sixth on the EPL table.
