The Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays are playing on the MLB schedule on Thursday in the afternoon from Rogers Centre and the series finale has Tom Wilhelmsen against Daniel Norris in a bullpen showdown game and the matchup is huge as somehow the M's are alive for a playoff spot and the game starts up past 4 pm ET and is the last of an 11-game roadie for Seattle.
The Mariners have been simply terrible lately and they have not been able to score and they have been blown out and all of this comes as the team was close in the wild card race. The team easily could have vaulted ahead with other teams slumping, but they gave the fans no hope and it was just a terrible week for the Mariners and for their pitching staff. Even King Felix was rocked and now his Cy Young candidacy is in question and that makes this season feel even worse.
The Mariners gave their fans so much hope only to rip it away and now they are limping to the finish and while this was a successful season, it sure doesn't feel that way anymore. The team has already clinched a winning season for the first time in years, but amazingly that feels underwhelming for the way they had been playing up until a certain point.
