Aug 02, 2014 10:20 PM EDT

The Seattle Sounders and San Jose Earthquakes are playing live on the MLS Schedule and the game on Saturday night is from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara and is the first game in the San Francisco 49ers new home and the matchup is on NBC Sports Network and streaming from the NBCSN Live Extra website at 10:30 pm ET and 7:30 pm PT for these western conference rivals.

The Sounders have been playing well all season and they are the top team in the conference and they are looking to bounce back after losing their last match against the LA Galaxy. The team comes to the road after the home matchup and again face a team from California and they will try to rebound as Clint Dempsey and DeAndre Yedlin lead the way and San Jose comes in after a nice win against Chicago. The team snapped a five game winless streak with that match against the Fire and now they will try to keep that going.

This is the second time this season that the teams are playing in league play and the first time was back in May in Seattle and the Sounders won that game 1-0. Seattle also snagged a win in the US Open Cup in a penalty shootout after the teams played to a 1-1 draw and that means this one could be another tight matchup and they won the shootout 4-1. The Sounders last won away in this series back in 2010 and now they will try and get the first win at Levi's Stadium.

San Jose wants to keep things going after snapping their winless streak and now they are feeling good after getting a 5-1 win against the Fire at Buck Shaw Stadium. The team is currently in ninth place in the west and while they are pretty out of it, they still have 20 points from 18 games this season and are looking to stay on the positive side of things. In the last match the team had Chris Wondolowski had a nice chance before Ariba Harris added one for an impressive goal and now the Quakes will try and get a good offensive performance against the best team in the league.

The Sounders were beaten dare we say it, soundly, in their last game against the Galaxy and that was the worst loss for the team this season. The Galaxy started off the scoring early after Landon Donovan set up a goal and things did not get better from there for Seattle, but they remain in first place in the west and overall with 38 points this season in 19 games. The Sounders are one of the offensive leaders in the league and have one of the best goal totals and now they will try and bounce back after the shutout with a good day on the road out west.
