The Chicago Cubs and LA Dodgers are playing out in Los Angeles on the west coast and the MLB game starts up at 9:10 pm ET and the game is big as the Dodgers try and keep their lead in the division and the pitching matchup has Hyun-jin Ryu and Tsuyoshi Wada.
Ryu comes in pitching well and Los Angeles has been one of the strongest teams in the league and they are looking to get a win after losing to the Cubbies on Friday. The Dodgers will have Josh Beckett on the mound against Edwin Jackson on Sunday for the afternoon series finale and the team comes in ranked 10th in the league in runs this season.
The Dodgers are eighth in batting average, fifth in on base percentage and 10th in slugging and they currently have the lead in the NL West. The pitching has been lights out and part of that has been due to Clayton Kershaw and they are in the top five in ERA and fourth in quality starts, while the team is eighth in WHIP and ninth in BAA this year.
The Cubs and Dodgers did not make massive moves at the deadline, with Chicago trading Emilio Bonifacio and James Russell and they are struggling on offense. The team is ranked 24th in runs scored this year and 27th in batting average and the team is also 28th in on base percentage. The team is 17th in ERa and 21st in quality starts and they are looking to try and finish the season with some positive play.
