Apr 30, 2014 10:44 PM EDT

The NBA playoffs standings has the Toronto Raptors up 3-2 against the Brooklyn Nets after their win in Game 5 and the two teams will play again in Game 6 on Friday and that will be from the Barclays Center and will start up at 7 pm ET and now Deron Williams and Paul Pierce have their backs against the wall and the winner of this series will play the Miami Heat in the second round.

The Raptors got 36 points from Kyle Lowry and he hit some big shots down the stretch and now he has his team one win away from advancing to the next round. The Brooklyn Nets have now lost two games in a row and while they got 30 points from Joe Johnson and nine assists from Deron Williams, it wasn't enough to win and now Jason Kidd will have to rally his troops. Lowry led the Raptors with six assists and Patrick Patterson was valuable with eight rebounds and now the Raptors have control of the series and the Nets are reeling a bit.

The team is a veteran roster and the longer the series goes the more in favor it is for the Raptors and they will be looking to close things out in Game 6 at the Barclays Center. The schedule on Thursday has the Indiana Pacers and the Atlanta Hawks playing Game 6 and that has the Hawks up 3-2 and they have the chance to upset Indy and whoever wins that series will play against the Washington Wizards after they won over the Chicago Bulls.

The Nets and Raptors came into the game looking for a win to get ahead and the Nets needed it more in a way because of how old they are and after losing Game 4 they hoped to steal another game in Toronto. The Dallas Mavericks and the Spurs also played Game 5 in their western conference first round series and now the Spurs are up 3-2 after they won that game.
