The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox are playing in an AL Central division game on Wednesday and the matchup is streaming online from U.S. Cellular Field starting up at 2:10 pm ET and comes as the division is stacked at the top and the pitching matchup will have Max Scherzer and Hector Noesi on the mound in the game.
Scherzer is coming off of a Cy Young win from last year and Noesi is now pitching for his third team after being terrible for the Mariners and the Rangers and the White Sox come into the game at 14-14 and they are fourth in the division. The Central will be tough this year, as the Tigers are the early leaders and the Royals are coming back after a solid season in 2013 and the White Sox and Twins are playing much better, while the Indians also made the playoffs last season.
The Sox come into the game after losing to the Tigers and they next will play a series with the Cleveland Indians and that game will be Jon Danks on the mound for the team and they come in hitting the ball very well. The White Sox have been one of the best offensive teams in the league this season so far and they are in the top 10 in all of the major categories. The Sox are ranked first in the league in scoring and they have been putting up runs and now they are ranked at the top and they are also third in batting average and slugging and fifth in on base percentage.
The pitching has not been so great and they are 10th in quality starts and 28th in ERA and the team is also in the bottom part of the league in WHIP and BAA. The Tigers come into the gamer after a win and they play against the Royals next and that matchup has Rick Porcello and James Shields on the mound and comes on Friday in KC. The Tigers are ranked second in batting average but just 22nd in runs and they are also ranked in the top 10 in on base and slugging percentage. The team is in the middle of the pack in pitching and they are ranked 18th in ERA and 16th in quality starts and the team is 16th and 14th in BAA and WHIP so far in the early goings.
