Miami Dolphins Trade Rumors: Dion Jordan Shopped As Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings For Adrian Peterson An Option?

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly looking at a trade for Dion Jordan and are gauging his value around the league and some options could be the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers or New York Giants, while a radical idea could be to the Minnesota Vikings for Adrian Peterson, but we know that will never happen.

According to Pro Football Talk, CBS Sports is reporting that the Dolphins are looking at the value of Jordan and this comes after the team traded up for him last season. That obviously would be a strange move after trading up for a player, but this is the Miami Dolphins we are talking about. The Dolphins moved up to the third overall pick with the Raiders last season, giving up their number 12 pick and their second round pick at number 42 overall in the process and now they are looking to ditch the player they took with that pick.

Last year many felt that was too high for Jordan, but various draft experts felt it was a risk worth taking, as Jordan had a high upside coming from Oregon. That is the reason why the Pro Football Talk report cites the Eagles as a potential destination, as Chip Kelly was Jordan's old coach and he got the best production out of him when he was still with the Ducks. At the time of the trade, the team had been considering pulling off a trade for Branden Albert at left tackle and looking at how things turned out on the offensive line for the Dolphins this year, trading for an established veteran may have been the better move.

Jason La Canfora wrote on Twitter that the team has been looking at trading Jordan and that Miami is "gauging" the trade value for the defensive star. Last season Jordan had 26 tackles and two sacks while playing in all 16 games, but various times on ESPN and other websites, many questioned why the team wasn't using him more. There could be some things going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, including work ethic issues or other problems, but either way, it would be a bit of a setback to trade someone like Jordan just one year after the team traded up to get him.

Phil Sheridan at ESPN looks at the report from the Eagles side and wonders whether the team should try and go after Jordan, who played very well under Kelly in Oregon. Kelly and his team picked Lane Johnson last season after Jordan was picked, but he claimed that Jordan would have been the pick had he been there are four and that could lead to some interest. But with this draft being so much deeper than last year according to draft experts, it's unlikely the team would try and trade and picks of their own for Jordan this season
