NBA All-Star Game Schedule 2014: Start Date and TV Channel For Dunk Contest and 3-Point Shootout

The NBA All-Star Game schedule for 2014 kicks off in New Orleans starting up on February 14 and leads into the East West matchup date on Sunday and the whole weekend includes the dunk contest, skills competition and other NBA sponsored events and games, including the celebrity basketball matchup and the rising stars challenge.

The festivities start on Thursday with NBA TV coverage and on Friday the actual All-Star weekend will begin and that includes the basketball hall of fame announcement early in the day and later on in the night will be the first real event with the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and that matchup will bring out some top names and will be broadcast live on ESPN and on the WatchESPN website.

The BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge is coming up after the celeb game and that always is an exciting thing to watch for basketball fans and this year there will be plenty of young stars to watch out for. The Saturday schedule has a number of things going on in the day and then there will be a special presentation at night with the Skills competition. The event has a number of games and competitions and it includes the shooting stars event, three point contest as well as the skills competition and the slam dunk contest, which will have some true star power this season with John Wall, Damian Lillard and Paul George participating.

Sunday will have the 63rd NBA All-Star Game and the matchup will be one of the most anticipated in years, as a number of top players are making their debuts in the game. Stephen Curry, Kevin Love and Paul George lead the way as LeBron James and Kevin Durant are the top vote getters and along with them names like Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony will be starting. Anthony Davis is in for Kobe Bryant and that should make for a great matchup on both sides this season.
