The Farmers Insurance Open is back in action on Saturday and the third round picks up with the PGA Tour field and Tiger Woods looking to get into things and it will be streaming online from the Golf Channel Live Extra and the TV will be on the GC and CBS later in the afternoon and Woods is looking to get back into things after a rough round on Friday at Torrey Pines and he is the defending champion here.

The North and South courses gave varied scores for players over the first two days of the tournament and now the field will continue on the south course for the weekend and a player that Woods was paired with for the first two days in Jordan Spieth comes in as the leader and he put up a nice score of nine under with a 63 on Friday and he will be looking to pad that lead when he tees off. Spieth did that one the North course and now things move to the south and he has a 10 stroke lead going into Saturday and Woods comes in nine back and he will need to master the course that he has owned in his career.

Woods has won at Torrey Pines eight times and won the Farmers last year and this is his first real tourney of 2014 and while it wasn't the start he expected, Woods said he was frustrated but felt good heading into the weekend. Woods will be paired with Sang-Moon Bae and Jhonattan Vegas and Spieth comes in ahead of Stewart Cink on the leaderboard and Cink and Nicolas Colsaerts will be grouped with him, while Billy Horschel and Marc Leishman are starting just a couple strokes back of them at seven under and they will play on Saturday with Morgan Hoffman as Woods tries to get back in the mix. Woods tees off early on Saturday and now he is the biggest name left, as Phil Mickelson bowed out with a back injury. The TV coverage starts up at 1 pm and Woods is looking to at least have a solid day to get back into the mix.

The final 36 holes will be at the north course and Woods did not even birdie any of the par fives on Friday and he also missed on half of his fairways and now he has to have a fantastic day to get near the top of the leaderboard. Woods was killing at this time last season and had a couple eagles on the day and he also ended up with a nine under at this time and now he is just hoping to get some good play going on Saturday to take into the rest of the season. Spieth had a great day and the 20-year-old looked strong with nine birdies and he had zero bogeys and he also was good on the greens, missing on only one and after Woods made five fairways, he said that Spieth looked great all day as the two were playing in a group together.
