The NFL playoffs are getting very close and with just two weeks left in the season, the AFC and NFC wild card chases are getting very close and very interesting and the way the division races shake out could have a great effect on the wild cards, as the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys are all in the mix.

The NFC playoff picture has a number of different scenarios and the Cardinals are right on the outside of the race, as the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers are in right now and the Cards have division games coming up. The Cardinals have nine wins this season and the Packers, Bears, Cowboys and Eagles could get bumped depending on how the races shake out. The NFC East may get just one team, while the North could be the same and with the Packers and Bears playing in Week 17, anything could happen.

The AFC wild card is interesting as well with the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, as the Chiefs still can win the AFC West. The Miami Dolphins are right in contention with eight wins and the Ravens need to continue winning to stay in as well.

In more NFL news, the league has decided to fine Steelers linebacker Terence Garvin for his massive hit on the Bengals punter that broke his jay last Sunday night.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Terence Garvin has been fined $25,000 by the National Football League for his blindside block on Cincinnati punter Kevin Huber, NFL.com reported Wednesday.

Huber suffered a broken jaw and possible further injuries, and is out for the remainder of the season as a result of being hit during a punt return in Sunday's game between the Steelers and the Bengals.

Garvin appeared to use the crown of his helmet during the brutal blow he delivered to an unsuspecting Huber.

"It was a pretty good hit. It's hard to be mad, more disappointing than anything," Huber told reporters of the play, while wearing a neck brace. "I can't do much about it now." (Reuters)
