Top Fantasy Football Waiver Pickups Week 15: Marcel Reece, Toby Gerhart, Shane Vereen and Daniel Thomas Best Free Agents

The fantasy football weekend is over and with one game left on Monday night between the Cowboys and the Bears, and that means fantasy owners will be looking for the best waiver free agents and sleepers heading into Week 15 and some of the top RB options includes Marcel Reece, Toby Gerhart, Shane Vereen and Daniel Thomas.

Adrian Peterson was injured on Sunday against the Ravens and while he should be good to go next week, having Gerhart is solid insurance after the way he played this week and he should be available in most leagues. Reece has been playing very well in place of Rashad Jennings and Darren McFadden, while Shane Vereen has taken the starting mantle from Stevan Ridley with his fumbling problems and issues. Daniel Thomas had another solid game on Sunday and he is a good pickup as well as with Reece and Gerhart for owners needing some help down the stretch.

Reece has been playing very well when he has been needed and he now has an average of five yards per carry this season on 41 attempts and he made the most of his game on Sunday with 19 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown as well as two catches for 38 yards on five targets. Reece has always been better than his size shows and on his 63-yard run he showed that he is much faster than the typical fullback and he could be a very solid option if Jennings can't go down the stretch. Reece ended up with over 150 total yards in the game and even if Jennings and McFadden come back, he should get some solid touches.

Gerhart came into the game in Baltimore for Peterson after he injured his foot and he had an impressive 41 yards touchdown run that kept the Vikings in the game and he ended the day with over five yards per carry for 89 yards on 15 carries. Gerhart has been a solid backup for the Vikings and if Peterson can't go next week, Gerhart could be a solid option for owners in deeper leagues as well as ones with AP on their teams.

Daniel Thomas has been up and down all season, but he is hot right now and he plays against a weak Patriots defense in Week 15 and he is coming off of a 16 carry, 105 yard performance against the Steelers and after scoring, he now has two touchdowns in the past three games and over 150 yards. Thomas has nearly 400 yards on the ground this season and while the Dolphins weren't great rushing the ball early on, Thomas and Lamar Miller have come on as of late.

Shane Vereen may benefit the most from the Rob Gronkowski injury, as he catches passes from the backfield better than anyone on the team and could be the new security blanket, while Stevan Ridley's fumbling has made him the top back. Vereen had just three carries for nine yards and a TD in the game, but he came through with 12 catches for 153 yards and now he has 40 catches this season and 17 in the last two games and for PPR owners he is an MVP.
