The Washington Redskins and the New York Giants are matching up in an NFC East divisional matchup and the Sunday Night Football game starts up at 8:30 pm on NBC and the matchup at FedEx Field offers a chance for each side to get back on track after losses and matches up Eli Manning and Robert Griffin III for the SNF Week 13 game.

Eli Manning has been having a terrible season and Griffin has not played up to expectations either and now both sides will be looking to get back on track for the Week 13 game. These two teams will match up again at the end of the season for a Week 17 games and this is now how either side expected to be doing in 2013, especially the Redskins after they made the playoffs as division winners last season. Both the Giants and the Redskins have been disappointing this season and New York is still reeling a bit from their last second loss to the Cowboys last weekend and that game saw the team beaten in nearly every phase by the end of things apart from rushing the ball, as Tony Romo led with 234 yards and Dez Bryant had 86 receiving yards, while Andre Brown led the game with 127 rushing yards and on Sunday night he will need to be effective for the Giants to win the night game.

The Giants defense has improved over the past four weeks and after playing against the Redskins the team plays against the San Diego Chargers on the road and that always is interesting for Eli Manning, as he spurned the team back when he was drafted 10 years ago and he always gets the fan treatment at Qualcomm. The Giants have the divisional matchup against the Redskins left at the end of the season after this game and they have lost both game against the Cowboys this year after losing on the final play of the game last week with a field goal at the end of regulation following a nice comeback from Eli Manning. The Giants offense has been putting up better numbers over the past month since starting their winning streak and they will try and open up the passing game with Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks with the way the Washington secondary is playing.

The Giants opened the season with three of their first four games on the road and that did not go well, as the team started off 0-6 on the season and then they finally got things back on track with a win against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night football and after that the team won the next three games before finally losing to the Cowboys. The Giants now are likely out of the playoffs even though they are not yet eliminated and the Redskins are behind them in the division and the battle between these two teams is for the bottom of the NFC East.

The Giants travel to play the San Diego Chargers next in Week 14 and then they host the best team in the NFC with the Seattle Seahawks coming to NY and then they will travel to play the Detroit Lions at Ford Field and then they host the Washington Redskins in Week 17 to end the season. The Redskins are 3-8 on the season and have been the best rushing team in the league and they are trying to rebound after a loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night football and they are trying to get back on track after losing three straight games and four of the last five.
