Mike Brown Fantasy Football: Lance Moore, Jerricho Cotchery, Cecil Shorts and Kenny Stills Best WR Sleepers For Justin Blackmon

The NFL season is now past the halfway mark and this year some fantasy owners were dealt a blow when young star Justin Blackmon was hit with a suspension and now that he is out for the season, some names to pick up as sleeper replacements includes Lance Moore, Jerricho Cotchery, Cecil Shorts and Kenny Stills as well as Ace Sanders and Aaron Dobson.

Riley Cooper is another name to keep an eye on, but he likely is gone in most leagues by now and after Nick Foles threw for seven touchdowns, chances he will not be available, but some of the names above sure are and they are solid options to get for Blackmon, who showed some great potential as a fantasy stud before getting hit with the suspension. Blackmon was being looked at as a star for some teams after catching 29 balls for over 400 yards in just four games, but now he will be out of the lineup for good this season, making Browns and names like Cecil Shorts and Ace Sanders the best options if you are looking towards the terrible Jaguars.

Blackmon had been putting up some very impressive numbers through four games and he got off to a very fast start with two games over 100 yards in his first two starts after being suspended for the beginning of the season. Mike Brown had been showing some development and progress all season and now he gets the chance to play on the field. ESPN.com reported that he was off the field for most of the season before the Denver game, but he was on it for nearly all of the offensive snaps and since then him and Cecil Shorts have been the top two targets for the Jags.

Before that game Brown had registered just one catch for three yards on the season in the Kansas City Chiefs game to open the year and over the next three games he has shown that he could be a solid NFL and fantasy receiver option. Brown had six targets in the game against the Broncos and had four catches and after that game he had his best performance as a pro, making five catches for over 100 yards, including a 43-yard reception. He had 120 yards in the game to average 24 yards per catch and after that against San Francisco he had three catches on six targets with a touchdown. Brown has some big play ability after making a 29-yards or more catch in the past two games and with the Jags playing next against the Titans without Blackmon, he could have himself a nice rest of the season.

Lance Moore has not been that great this season, but after breaking out against the Jets with 10 targets from Drew Brees, he could end up being more productive this week as the team moves into a huge game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night football. The Saints obviously had a tough loss against the Jets over the weekend and Moore did his best with six catches for 70 yards and while he has just 13 on the season for 148 yards, having Marques Colston dealing with some injuries could be just what he needs to continue producing through the rest of the year for the Saints.
