The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the West Virginia Mountaineers will do battle on Saturday at Mountaineer Field in Morgantown and the two teams are expected to put up big numbers, while OSU will be looking to go 3-0 against a 2-2 WVU team.

The Cowboys are looking strong after scoring over 50 points the past two games, but that was against subpar teams, but the opening game was good, as they defeated Miss State 21-3 to open the year. The Mountaineers game is the first big test for the Cowboys and the Mountaineers game will be on ESPN at 12 noon and that comes before another huge Big 12 matchup that will be on ESPN2/ABC with Kansas State coming next and they are still trying to rebound from that loss against NDSU.

The schedule doesn't let up for the Cowboys the rest of the way, as the team has three of their next four games on the road including KSU, as they will play TCU at home and then they will play on the road against Iowa State and Texas Tech, who is now ranked in the top 25 and then after that they will play against Kansas. The big game against Texas will also be on the road and then the team finishes up with two games against Baylor and Oklahoma, also in the top 25 and those to matchups to end the year will be at home.

This is the first game for the Cowboys in the conference while West Virginia has already lost one game in the Big 12. The team is averaging over 500 yards per game this season and they are pushing on despite the scathing SI report on the team and the Cowboys are ranked 19th in the nation with over 300 yards passing per game and they are also averaging over 175 yards on the ground. The team is ranked 11th in the nation in scoring and are putting up over 40 points per game and the team is also playing solid defense, as they are allowing just under 15 points.

West Virginia is coming off of a very tough loss to Maryland of 37-0 and the team will play on the road against Baylor next after playing the Cowboys. The team is playing against Texas Tech next and then the team will be on the road for two straight games, with Kansas State and TCU coming up next. That stretch includes three of four games on the road, with Texas coming up next at home and then the team hits the road for Kansas. The team then will finish the game against Iowa State at home and by then they could be out of the conference mix.
