The Los Angeles Clippers are one of the most talented teams heading into the 2013-14 NBA season and with Doc Rivers in the fold, the team has a championship pedigree at the top and with players like Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and JJ Redick, a title run is not out of the question.

The team made a number of moves in the offseason, including trading for Jared Dudley and Redick, while also signing Paul to an extension and that should give the team a nice core heading into the opening schedule. The Clippers are still putting together their final roster for training camp and according to Pro Basketball Talk, one player that could get an invite to camp this year is Gilbert Arenas, a player that has not been in the league since back in 2012.

Arenas has had plenty of issues in his NBA past, but now he could get the chance to change all that, as the report says the Clippers are considering giving him an invite to camp this season. Arenas last played for the Memphis Grizzlies and he could be a veteran presence on the bench for the team if he makes the roster. The Clippers have room for two more players if they want to add them on the roster and Arenas could give depth for Rivers to work with as he tries to balance playing certain players this season.

HoopsWorld first reported the news and said that Arenas has been looking much better than he has over the past year and that is why the Clippers are considering extending him an invite. The team has already added a number of players this offseason, including Antawn Jamison and that could be a winning formula for LA. This season the Clippers should continue to be the better team in the Staples Center and Jamison would know best, as he played for the Lakers last season and now just has to change locker rooms in the building for this season.

Jamison could end up being a very valuable addition for the team, as he averaged nearly 10 points and five rebounds in a reserve role for the Lakers last year. Jamison is in his late 30s, but he is exactly the type of veteran player that Rivers likes on his team and Paul also expressed his happiness at adding him to the roster. Jamison is a veteran player with postseason experience and while he dealt with some injuries last year, he rehabbed over the summer and should be 100 percent for the 2013 start.

Redick should be a nice addition as well and he could serve as the Ray Allen for Doc Rivers, while Paul is Rajon Rondo and Blake Griffin is Kevin Garnett. The team is expecting to make a deep run this season and after winning the division with a 56-26 record, the Clippers know that teams like the Thunder, Warriors and Rockets are all improved and they will have a tough time in the West.
