NBA Trade Rumors: Kings Open For Jimmer Fredette Deals As Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace On Block, Cavaliers Anderson Varejao To Move?

The NBA offseason is starting to move towards training camps and the preseason and with most of the major moves already going down, including Brandon Jennings being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, even more trades could be happening late in the summer, including with names like Jimmer Fredette, Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Kings are open to listening to trade offers for Fredette, although they are not actively shopping him. The team was connected to some rumors with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier in the offseason, but nothing came of that, but now things could be back on, especially since Anderson Varejao is supposedly on the trading block as well. Fredette was a high draft pick and he has not lived up to expectations so far and the new Kings regime wants to see what they can get for him on the market.

Fredette showed some improvement last season and has averaged 7.4 points, 1.5 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game over this first two years, but he has never been able to develop a consistent offensive game. Fredette increased his three point shooting percentage from last season and while he has been a disappointment, a new home could be exactly what he needs for a fresh start. He is just 24-years-old and as a BYU product the Utah Jazz could be a perfect fit, although that deal is unlikely.

Fredette has had issues getting on the court for the Kings and after the team tried to trade him to try and signs Monta Ellis or Andre Iguodala, the team settled for other players, including Carl Landry. Fredette was taken with the number 10 pick in the draft in 2011 and he has not been able to average over 20 minutes in his career, something that has kept his development grounded.

Fredette isn't the only trade rumor going around, as Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace may be on the block after the Boston Celtics acquired them from the Nets in the trade for Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Wallace has over $30 million left on his deal and with Humphries having an expiring contract at $10 million, he could be a nice option for some teams, including the Bulls and Clippers. The two players appeared depressed when traded to the Celtics, but if they are moved to contenders, it could shift the East. Humphries is a nice pickup for anyone needing a consistent big man and he averaged 13.8 points and 11 rebounds two seasons ago and is a consistent double-double threat.

The Cavaliers were reportedly interested in trading for Fredette and now they may have Varejao on the trading block after he dealt with injuries last season. He played in just 25 games and averaged 14.1 points and 14.4 rebounds and he was coming off of a season in which he averaged 18.7 points, 11.8 boards and 1.9 blocks per game and now he could be a solid option for teams looking for depth down low. The Cavaliers signed Andrew Bynum this offseason which is one reason why Varejao could be on the block.
