People watch a television at Dunkin Donuts as New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is arraigned next door in the Attleborough District Court, after being arrested, June 26, 2013. Hernandez, a 23-year-old rising football star with the New England Patriots, was arrested by police in a murder investigation and fired by the team on Wednesday, another blot on the National Football League's tightly protected image."

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will appear in court on Thursday, August 22 for a probable cause hearing in the murder case of Odin Lloyd and prosecutors are expected to present evidence as the case should move to superior court.

According to the Herald News, Hernandez likely will be in court later in the day, possibly after 12 noon and the case is expecting to be moved to superior court, which usually tries cases like murder. The report says that prosecutors have painted Hernandez as the main orchestrator of the murder of Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-pro football player that was tied to Hernandez through his fiancé and possibly through drugs.

Lloyd was reportedly dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancé and the group of four frequently went out together. Hernandez was arrested for the murder soon after the body was found less than a mile from his home in an industrial park and now he is being held in the Bristol County House of Correction in Dartmouth and he will be in Attleboro District Court for the probable cause hearing. The defense tried to argue against the delay in July for the probable cause hearing and there are two other accomplices in the case with Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, who are both also in custody.

Wallace is charged with being an accessory to murder and he will have a probable cause hearing on Monday, while Ortiz will be back in court on August 29 for a pretrial hearing and he is charged with carrying a firearm without a license. Hernandez is facing life in prison and when he initially was asked about the murder before he was arrested, he acted agitated with police and did not cooperate.

Hernandez was considered to be one of the best tight ends in the NFL when he was arrested and now he is released from the Patriots and his life could be spent behind bars. He is being held in solitary confinement as the Patriots are playing in the preseason and he could be indicted soon by the grand jury.
