NY Giants Rumors: Vonta Leach Target As Henry Hynoski Might Be Ready For Week 1 Against Dallas Cowboys, Hakeem Nicks and Jason Pierre-Paul Future Deals A Concern?

The New York Giants have high expectations heading into the 2013 season and after losing Henry Hynoski to an injury in OTA workouts, fullback Vonta Leach has been on the radar of general manager Jerry Reese, but according to reports, he may not be needed.

Hynoski injured his MCL and lateral plateau earlier in the offseason and although he needed surgery for the injuries, Pro Football Talk reports that he is on his way back to being healthy and is ahead of schedule for the team. Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger said that Hynoski is targeting the first game of the season against the Dallas Cowboys and the team is hoping that he will be fully recovered and if not they will keep trying to sign Leach. The team has Bear Pascoe to slide over from tight end, but they are hoping for Hynoski to return by the start of the year. The Dolphins are also chasing Leach.

Victor Cruz is back with the team on a long-term deal, but according to ESPN.com, the Giants have some big decisions to make regarding Hakeem Nicks and Jason Pierre-Paul, as they both need to get paid and the team might not have much room under the cap. Eli Manning is due $20.85 million against this year's cap, $20.4 million against next year's, and $19.75 million against the 2015 cap and that could hamstring the team as time goes on.

Chris Snee, David Baas, Mathias Kiwanuka and Antrel Rolle all could be casualties come next season and while the Giants usually are very good at maneuvering the cap, they might not be able to keep everyone.
