The MLB All Star Game at Citi Field is around the corner and after a frantic week, Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris Davis finished with the most votes of any player, passing Miguel Cabrera for the top spot at the game after fans voted him in before the final tallies were added up.

Davis is having a career season for the Orioles and has set records for the Orioles with stats before the All Star Break, including 33 home runs and 85 RBIs with a batting average of .320. Cabrera is having quite the year himself with 28 home runs and 90 RBIs while hitting over .360 on the season. The two players have been dominating all year and they did it again for the All Star game, while Bryce Harper will also be in it and it going to start for the NL.

The Cardinals have five players in the game, including catcher Yadier Molina and the pitchers starting the game likely will be Matt Harvey and Max Scherzer, while David Wright will also join Harvey as members of the Mets in the game. Harvey was tops in votes for NL pitchers over Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, while his teammate Yasiel Puig was left off after an amazing month and a half in the league and he could end up getting in on the fan vote later on against shortstop Ian Desmond of Washington, first basemen Freddie Freeman of Atlanta, Adrian Gonzalez of the Dodgers, and outfielder Hunter Pence of San Francisco.

Mariano Rivera made the game again, as did Felix Hernandez along with Detroit's Joaquin Benoit, Toronto's Steve Delabar, the Yankees' David Robertson, Texas' Tanner Scheppers, and Boston's Koji Uehara. Davis had the most votes with 8,272,243 to finish ahead of Cabrera and following Ichiro he is the second player to be a first time player in the game and lead the voting. He will join a number of teammates, including J.J. Hardy and center fielder Adam Jones, while Manny Machado also made the team.
