NFL Free Agent Rumors: Jacksonville Jaguars Host Marcus Trufant As Cornerback May Sign With Old Seahawks Coach Gus Bradley, Quentin Jammer and Charles Woodson Options?

The Jacksonville Jaguars were one of the worst teams in the league last season and after making some solid draft picks, including Luke Joeckel at number two, the team is expected to be much better and they could add another player in Marcus Trufant.

According to NFL.com, the free agent cornerback is visiting with the team on Tuesday and could sign during the week. Trufant has a brother that was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons and he previously played for head coach Gus Bradley when he was with the Seahawks as defensive coordinator. Trufant was previously drafted with the 11th pick in 2003 and was a solid cover corner for many years.

Trufant would be a veteran presence on the team and could compete for a starting position right away against names like Dwayne Gratz and veterans Alan Ball and Kevin Rutland. Trufant was no longer needed in Seattle with the likes of Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman, the best duo in the league, and the Jaguars could easily slot him is as a starter or second option as the 2013 season gets closer. The team is having offseason workouts and rookie minicamps over the past week and Trufant could come in after the draft and be a veteran leader in the locker room.
