The Golden State Warriors are in position to win their first round series against the Denver Nuggets as Game 6 shifts to California after the Nuggets took down the Warriors at the Pepsi Center in a physical Game 5 matchup.

The two teams have been going at each other since the game and head coach Mark Jackson called the Nuggets play dirty on Stephen Curry, while Denver snapped back and said the same about the Warriors. Curry has been the most important player for Golden state during the series and after injuring his ankle in Game 2 he has been able to play despite the injury, including the 30 points he dropped in that game.

Curry was less effective in Game 5 after scoring 29 and 31 points in the previous games and scored just 15 points after shooting 1-for-7 from 3-point range. The Warriors won three straight games after losing on a last second layup from Andre Miller and now they must try to regroup after the 107-100 loss in Game 5. The crowd is expected to be rocking in California, as the arena has been one of the best for the Warriors this season and the team will feed off that energy again on Thursday night.

Kenneth Faried said the physical play will continue and coach George Karl said he felt the Warriors were the ones starting it and not his Nuggets. Curry will be looking to score on Thursday night from beyond the arc after his poor shooting performance and Andrew Bogut will need to step up for the Warriors to win. Denver is much better at home than on the road, but after losing just three games during the regular season at the Pepsi Center, the Warriors know that the Nuggets will be tough in Game 7 and will want to finish them off in Game 6. Many felt that the Nuggets would walk away easily from the series, but that has not been the case and now the series will take an even more intense turn on Thursday night.

Draymond Green went off during the game and Bogut also gave a shove to Faried's face after the Curry hit. Both teams were knocked around and after the game Andre Miller was bloody and Ty Lawson was bruised from an elbow to the head. Both sides have blamed the other and the physical play could dominate Game 6 as the two teams try to move on in the playoffs.

"We're not concerned," Jackson said. "When we play our brand of basketball, there's no concern about guys getting out of character. We understand what we have to do."
