Los Angeles Lakers Trade Rumors: Dwight Howard Package Ready? Nets Would Include Lopez and Brooks?

Feb 19, 2013 03:26 PM EST

The Los Angeles Lakers have been heavily rumored once again to be involved in a trade involving Dwight Howard. Analysts believe the Brooklyn Nets really want to land the polemical center. Howard might want out of Los Angeles and this is the package that the Nets would have to land the All-Star center.

Brook Lopez, Keith Bogans, MarShon Brooks and a draft pick, preferably a first rounder. All of this for the controversial Howard.

Lopez has stepped up his defense, he looks healthy and he was also an All-Star in the 2012-2013 season. He is a dominant scorer who can take over the game.

Bogans provides defense and the Lakers could get a great boost off the bench from Brooks who's only 24 and averaged close to 13 points in 2011-2012 when a starter.

Since the Lakers gave up their first round picks for Steve Nash, they'd want the Nets to include a top draft pick in the deal.

L.A. looks slow, old and like they're being guided by the wrong head coach. Mike D'Antoni has done little to help the Lakers improve in 2012-2013. They are currently sitting in 10th place in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Nets seem to really want this deal to go through. They have been trying to convince Howard to play in Brooklyn, but it's been far from a reality.

The package might be costly, but it's really the only thing that works for both sides since Howard is owed close to $20 million. Brooks and Bogans are making less than $3 million and Lopez is making less than $14 million in 2012.

These estimiates were made by ESPN analysts. Many doubt the trade will go down as the Lakers really would like for Howard to become the face of the franchise.

Kobe Bryant is ending his career in the NBA soon and they will be left without a leader and an anchor.

Howard is displeased with his situation in L.A. He's apparently not getting along with Kobe and doesn't look comfortable at the center position under the D'Antoni System.

Keep pace of all the trade rumors with Sports World Report as we will once again keep our eyes on any movement featuring Howard.
