Two Arsenal legends made contrasting statements Wednesday, with one saying he wants to return to the club, while the other ruled out a comeback by suggesting he wants to remain at the club he is currently in for the rest of his career.
Thierry Henry has shown his love for Arsenal time and again and the club's record goalscorer reiterated his desire to return to the team he adores in a coaching capacity once his career ends, while Cesc Fabregas said he wants to finish his career with Barcelona, having left the Gunners in 2011.
Henry is currently plying his trade in the MLS with New York Red Bulls, but sees himself returning to the Emirates in some capacity once his illustrious career is over.
"All I know is I'd like to stay involved with football, and, I hope, at Arsenal," Henry told France Football. "It's the heart that speaks, it's the team I support.
"If I can come back to the club, I'd love to do it, but it's not my decision. It would be a wish, a desire more than something that can be made official, I have two more years to play here, then I'll see.
"But I'd really love to be back with Arsenal."
Henry also lent his support to Arsene Wenger, who has come for much criticism in recent season, following Arsenal's barren spell in terms of trophies.
"When you don't win, people constantly question your work and your legitimacy," Henry added. "Everything you have achieved previously is forgotten.
"For me, these are things that are hard to hear, difficult to live. It's sad, but it's football. I know what Arsene Wenger has done for this club, in my eyes he will always be a great man."
Incidentally, fellow Arsenal legends Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp have been linked with the academy director's role which is set to be vacated by Liam Brady in the summer of 2014.
So, the prospect of Henry, Vieira and Bergkamp handling affairs at Arsenal once Wenger decides to retire is one that is certainly worth waiting for.
Meanwhile, Fabregas said the words that the majority of Arsenal fans would not have wanted to hear, saying he does not see himself leaving Barcelona at any point in the future.
Wenger himself had said he was hopeful the Spanish midfielder would one day return to the Gunners, but that now looks unlikely if the words of the player are anything to go by.
"I've already played abroad at Arsenal and in the Premier League," Fabregas said. "I'm very pleased and happy, but I've come back for good if I'm able.
"It'll depend on the club, my form, but if all goes to plan and I want to, like I do now, I'm going to fight to end my playing days here."
