Chelsea is set for a quarterfinal matchup with Premier League-rival Everton after trouncing Manchester City in the fifth round of the competition.

Chelsea took down a less-than-stellar Manchester City lineup in the match, advancing with a 5-1 victory at Stamford Bridge. According to the BBC, the club now will face off against Everton in the sixth-round, and the match is set for March 12 at Goodison Park. Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini did not play his best lineup in the match against Chelsea, as he wanted to save his best players for upcoming games for the club.

Chelsea did not mind the lineup move, as the team poured in five goals, including four in the second half. Players like Yaya Toure, David Silva and Sergio Aguero did not feature for Man City, with Pellegrini opting to play a young group that included David Faupala, Manu Garcia and Aleix Garcia. Chelsea took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Diego Costa in the first half, but that was matched by Faupala just two minutes later.

The match was 1-1 coming into the second half, but Chelsea did not let that last long. Willian scored a goal three minutes into the half, and that was followed by a strike from Gary Cahill to make the score 3-1 just five minutes later. The team added two more goals in the match and now they will advance to the next stage of the domestic tournament.

Everton and Chelsea have previously matched up in the FA Cup, including in 2009 final when the Blues won over Everton. Some of the other matches are set in the draw, with Reading taking on Crystal Palace, and Manchester United playing against West Ham.
