The 2016 NFL draft is coming up in April and players like Joey Bosa, Jared Goff, Laquon Treadwell, Jalen Ramsey and Laremy Tunsil are considered to be potential top 10 picks. Teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Titans, Chargers, 49ers and Jaguars could consider some of those players over the first group of selections in the draft.
The Titans pick fist overall this year and the team comes into the draft with needs all over the roster, including on both the offensive and defensive lines. The team doesn't need a quarterback after taking Marcus Mariota last year, so players like Joey Bosa and Laremy Tunsil could be their main targets. Mel Kiper at ESPN has the team taking Bosa with the top pick in his first mock draft, while CBS Sports predicts the team will go with Tunsil.
The Titans can go after the "best player available" with this pick and still fit a need and that could lead the team to take Bosa. Kiper writes that "getting the best defensive lineman in any draft really transcends need" and that "Bosa has the upside of a star" in the NFL. Bosa comes in after dominating at Ohio State and he could start right away for the pass-rush needy Titans. Tunsil is rated as the top offensive lineman by most scouts coming into the draft and if he gets past the Titans, expect the Chargers to consider him at number three.
The Cleveland Browns pick at number two and the feeling around the league is that the team will go after a quarterback. The team was expected to target the position even before the issues with Johnny Manziel came up and now that reports have the Browns moving on from the QB, taking a quarterback here is almost a guarantee. The team likely will look at Jared Goff and Carson Wentz as the main options, as those two players are considered to be the top prospects at the position.
Goff comes in after passing for over 4700 yards and 43 touchdowns for Cal last season and Kiper has the Browns taking him at number two. The Chargers are taking Tunsil in Kiper's first mock draft and that is a likely pick after the way the team dealt with injuries last season. The Cowboys pick at number four and many speculate that the team could consider taking a QB. The Cowboys may also look at Laquon Treadwell as an option after Dez Bryant dealt with foot and ankle injury issues last season. Treadwell has the potential to be a number one receiver in the future and could be a fit for Dallas.
