The Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks are playing live on the NBA schedule and the game is from Madison Square Garden for the east-west matchup. The Knicks host the league-leading Warriors as Carmelo Anthony and Stephen Curry match up.
The Warriors come in after a win against the Sixers and that matchup was closer than anyone expected after Philly came back from 24-points down. The Warriors pulled out a 108-105 win against the team with a last-second three from Harrison Barnes and now they will take on the Knicks. The team comes in at 43-4 on the season and as more time goes by, the more likely the team has the chance to chase the all-time single-season wins record.
Funny enough, the win gave the Warriors a tie for the best start ever after 47 game with the Sixers from back in the 60s and now they are ahead of the pace of the record-setting Bulls team by one game. The Warriors are playing a back to back against the Knicks and this time when the two teams face off in NYC it will be very different from last time. The Knicks were just 10-31 at home last season, but the team is 23-26 now and playing much better than last year.
The team had lost four in a row before beating the Suns on Friday and now the team has the Warriors. Carmelo Anthony was back in the lineup on Friday after missing two games and he will face the Warriors after missing both matchups last season. The Warriors have won the last two times the team has been in NYC against the Knicks.
Curry comes in after scoring 25 points the last time the two teams played, while Klay Thompson led the team in scoring with 27 points in that win. Thompson dropped 45 points on the Mavericks on Wednesday for his highest total of the season and now the team will try and keep things going on this east coast swing. Kristaps Porzingis has been a difference maker for the Knicks all season and he came back on Friday after sitting out with an illness.
