The Cardinals and the Panthers were the top teams by record in the league this season and now they will get to battle to see who truly is the best. Newton is looking like the favorite for the MVP this season after putting up over 40 combined touchdowns and leading his team to a 15-1 record while starting off 14-0 before losing against the Falcons. The Cardinals and the Panthers were the top scoring teams in the league this season and they also ranked in the top 10 in defense. Newton and the Panthers come in after holding off the Seahawks in the divisional round after Seattle early pulled off a furious comeback in the second half. The Cardinals also had a wild game in the divisional round, as the Packers scored on a Hail Mary play as time expired in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. Aaron Rodgers threw one of the greatest passes in playoff history and somehow found Jeff Janis in the endzone for the tying score. The Cardinals got the ball first in overtime and one possession was all they would need to get things done for the game.

Carson Palmer found Larry Fitzgerald open for a short gain, but Fitzgerald turned up the field and found some space, taking the ball 75-yards and nearly into the endzone. Before the Packers could catch their breath, Palmer found Fitzgerald on a shovel pass play that resulted in the winning touchdown, sending Arizona to the NFC title game. Now the Panthers and Cardinals will face off to see who will represent the conference in the Super Bowl.
