The Houston Texans may bring in some competition fat quarterback Brian Hoyer for the 2016 season and names like Sam Bradford, Robert Griffin III and Johnny Manziel could be potential targets. The Texans reportedly are considering releasing Arian Foster this offseason after the running back dealt with injuries in 2015.

The Texans made the playoffs this season despite having to use four different starting quarterbacks through the year and only having Foster active for four games. Bill O'Brien did a very strong coaching job with the situation the team had and now it's likely that the Texans will make some changes on the offensive side of the ball heading into next season. According to the Houston Chronicle, Aaron Wilson reports that "multiple sources" have said that the Texans are "expected to move on" from Foster this offseason.

Foster missed nearly all of last season with injuries and the running back will be 30 by the time next season starts, which is the age most players at the position start breaking down. Foster has dealt with injury issues for his entire career and he is coming off of groin and Achilles injuries in 2015. Foster played in just four games last season and rushed for 163 yards. Foster has a non-guaranteed salary for next season and that could lead the Texans to make a move on the running back.

The Texans also may focus on the quarterback position this offseason, as owner Bob McNair said to the Houston Chronicle that the team needs a franchise player at the position. Pro Football Talk writes that O'Brien could consider taking Christian Hackenberg in the draft, as O'Brien coached him while the QB was at Penn State. The Texans may look at the draft for a QB this year, but there are also other options on the market that the team could consider.

Sam Bradford is going to be a free agent and if he doesn't return to the Eagles, the Texans could be one of the teams to try and target him. The team also could look at Robert Griffin III as an option if he is released by the Redskins, while Johnny Manziel could be cut or traded by the Cleveland Browns. Reports have Griffin and Manziel hoping to end up in Dallas, but the Texans also could be appealing for the Texas natives. The Browns appear to be done with Manziel after hiring Hue Jackson, while Griffin is likely getting released by the Redskins this offseason.

The Texans also had multiple players undergo surgery after the season, including JJ Watt and Kevin Johnson. Watt had groin surgery following the playoffs loss for the Texans against the Chiefs and he is expected to be ready for the offseason program. According to the Houston Chronicle, Aaron Wilson reports that Johnson will be undergoing surgery on his foot and wrist this offseason. Johnson is having surgery for a stress fracture this week, while he will have wrist surgery next month.
