Matt Forte: Forte is 30 and entering his 8th season in the NFL. The Bears have all but announced his replacements, as Ka'Deem Carey and Jeremy Langford went absolutely nuts at times this season. Forte should go to an emerging contender in dire need of a running back, immediately the Colts come to mind but who knows if they will want to considering their signing of Frank Gore. Forte should not cost as much as other running backs do to his age and should have plenty of suitors. Forte was a true workhorse back for parts of the 2015 season as he had 218 rushing attempts, 898 yards, 4.1 yards per carry, and 4 touchdowns. Forte also showed a ton of offensive productivity as he recorded 44 receptions as well. An MCL injury did not seem to slow him down after his return and Forte should have another 2 or 3 years of productivity as a workhorse back left.
Doug Martin: Martin has supposedly been in contract talks with the Bucs but after firing Lovie Smith it is highly unlikely Martin returns. Martin was the second best running back in the league this season recording 288 carries, 1,402 yards, 4.9 yards per carry, and 6 touchdowns. Martin also proved to be a threat in the passing game as well recording 33 receptions. At 26 Martin is heading into free agency in the best situation possible, coming off of a ridiculously successful season. Martin should get a ton of offers by the time March rolls around.
Chris Ivory: Ivory is 27 so it would surprise me to see the Jets let him walk away in free agency however they could just as easily draft a new running back that they could look to develop since this draft should be loaded at the running back position. Ivory struggled at times this season however still delivered a terrific stat line when it was all said and done. Ivory recorded 247 rushing attempts, 1,070 yards, 4.3 yards per carry, and 7 touchdowns. Ivory should find himself back with the Jets in 2016.
Lamar Miller: Miller should be one of the hottest free agents out of the gate in 2016. He is only 24 and has shown nothing but promise in his time with Miami. He played in all 16 games and if not for terrible coaching he could have had a 2,000 yard season. Miller was used on a spectrum from never to every down and he did not appreciate this level of inconsistency. Miller finished the 2015 season with 194 rushing attempts, 872 yards, 4.5 yards per carry, and 8 touchdowns. He also racked up 47 receptions and continues to show that he was a key figure in the passing offense. Miller should have teams waiting in line for his services.
Alfred Morris: Morris is about to be a free agent and the Redskins will have to decide whether or not they move on from him entirely. It appeared Morris was being phased out of the offense earlier in the season however this changed dramatically as Washington rode the hot hand in most of their games. Morris can be a workhorse back he just needs an offensive line that gets penetration. Morris already averages 3.7 yards per carry, and has had 202 rushing attempts this season. Morris gained 751 yards this season but only recorded 1 touchdown. Morris should see some interest on the free agent market and will likely be in a different jersey by the start of the new season.
