It is being reported that Ben Roethlisberger has suffered a sprained AC joint thanks to a big hit he took in the Steelers/Bengals brutal wild card game.

The hit was one of the few legal hits that came in the game from linebacker Vontaze Burfict who drilled Roethlisberger for a sack towards the end of the third quarter. Roethlisberger landed sideways on his throwing shoulder which sent Burfict's full weight on to the Steelers quarterback.

Things looked bleak for the Steelers as Roethlisberger was assumed to have a broken collarbone however the quarterback reappeared on the sidelines in the fourth quarter.

Roethlisberger came in for Landry Jones who struggled running the Steelers offense and delivered on the game winning drive. Roethlisberger appeared to struggle throwing the ball deep as the Steelers set up short screens to make their way down the field. Roethlisberger showed his grit and toughness in that final drive as he fought through the pain to help get the Steelers the win.

Roethlisberger has suffered multiple injuries this season including a four game stretch thanks to a sprained MCL. Roethlisberger had an MRI on Sunday so his condition should be clearer on Monday.
