Finally it is all over. There is a winner in what has been one of the most confusing football divisions in 2016. In the beginning of the season the Redskins were labeled or miscast as the weakest team in the division. The Dallas Cowboys were expected to run away with the division and make a run at the Lombardi trophy.

The Philadelphia Eagles were expected to be the main competition for the Cowboys in the division while the Giants were seen as upset candidates. It is hard to find a division that had so much promise and optimism stripped away from them in such a short period of time. The Cowboys were the first to fall as Tony Romo suffered a broken left clavicle which ultimately cost the Cowboys a chance to compete in many of their games.

The Eagles found out their $40 million man in DeMarco Murray was a terrible fit in their offense and that this Eagles offensive line is just as big of a liability as Chip Kelly's personnel decisions. The Giants saw their secondary crumble due to injury. Eli Manning was as unpredictable as ever and Odell Beckham proved to be a source of hope and frustration as his absence from the week 16 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings pretty much closed the door on any hope of winning the division.

The Giants offensive line also suffered a ton of injuries forcing Manning to throw the ball a lot faster than he would have liked. Jason Pierre Paul returned to become a difference maker on defense however Victor Cruz could not return to help out this Giants passing game.

When it was all said and done, the Redskins were the healthiest team left which made them the most likely candidates for division champs. The Redskins found offensive continuity at a time were the rest of the division was falling apart. In what is only becoming a more unpredictable NFL landscape the Washington Redskins stand tall in a season of chaos.
