The MLB Winter Meetings are starting up and there could be some major moves for teams in Nashville, as players like Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller and Jose Fernandez could be potential trade options. Ben Zobrist is expected to sign a deal soon, while teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Giants and Cardinals could be active.

There have been some major names signed over the past week heading into the meetings, including Zack Greinke, Jeff Samardzija, Darren O'Day and Hisashi Iwakuma and those deals could spark other moves this week. The Yankees are reportedly willing to trade Andrew Miller for the right price, while the Dodgers have reportedly engaged in talks with the Red about Chapman, according to Ken Rosenthal at Fox Sports.

Greinke signed a deal with the Diamondbacks, while Samardzija opted to join the Giants and now those teams could continue to make moves at the meetings. Johnny Cueto is the top free agent pitcher and he is looking for a long term contract, while the Dodgers have reportedly agreed with Hisashi Iwakuma. The Dodgers wanted more starting pitching after losing Greinke and while Iwakuma is not as accomplished as Greinke, he is a consistent starter and now gives the team more depth.

Ben Zobrist is one of the most popular players on the market and Jon Heyman at CBS Sports reports that the Dodgers, Giants, Nationals and Mets are "all in" on trying to sign Zobrist. Zobrist is reportedly looking for a deal at four years and that could be a sticking point for the infielder as he tries to sign a long term deal. The Dodgers reportedly "love" Zobrist, but the team may not go for that fourth year. The Mets really want Zobrist and met with him last week, while the Giants and Nationals also could try and make a deal this week.

The Yankees come in with some major needs in the rotation and there is a chance they could look at some of the second tier free agent pitchers. The team is also willing to trade Miller for a starter. The Yankees dealt with injuries to Masahiro Tanaka, Michael Pineda, CC Sabathia and Nathan Eovaldi at various points last season and need some more depth. The Giants have added Samardzija, but they also reportedly want some more starting pitching and also have major needs in the outfield. The Mets have a need at second base, while the Cardinals also could at outfield options if they don't sign back Jason Heyward.
